    Great News: Western Conference Pension Announces Increase to Accrual Rate

    Local 162 participated in a region wide conference call with Chuck Mack, Union Chairman of the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust.  Mack announced that as a result of strong financial performance the Trustees approved an increase to the annual accrual rate (one of the calculations used to increase your monthy pension rate on retirement) from 1.2% to 1.6%.

    NEW HAVEN — The U.S. Department of Labor has ordered the city to pay more than $65,000 in back pay so far to 122 city Public Works and some Parks Department workers after the employees’ union discovered an apparent error in the way the city was calculating overtime pay, the union said.
